The weather here has been perfect for playing in the snow. For finding really large ice cycles, that can double as weapons on a moments notice. The girls were excited that Gramps hadn't knocked all of his down, like their daddy did. Safety first ya know...
With a base of ice and lots of snow on top, sleds can go record speeds.
Little bodies tire out quickly from the long trek back up the hill though.
Not to worry if your Dad has one of these.
A few short minutes and a rope later, and you have a hill billy pulley system.
This was just as much fun as the ride down =)
Oops...I think Sweet Man forgot to hold onto the rope ;-)
Clover got a lot of exercise that day!
The day was just about perfect, and to end it on a nice note, we of course had to throw food in the mix. With cold noses and hungry tummies, we piled into my parent's house, for soup and sandwiches.
You just can't beat a good hill billy sleigh ride! :-)
That does look like fun! Complete with food you didn't have to prepare! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the fact that I didn't have to prepare anything to eat in advance, was a huge bonus!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis day will go down as one of the best days of my life - I truly loved all the fun and no preparation. You spend 6 months and 2 weeks of cleaning for everyone to come over for Christmas - I love it when spur of the moment fun comes.
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful day Mom!! I think we should have more days like that. Let's start being more spontaneous and enjoy each others company more!!
